Editorial policy
Coastal Garden Journal aims to make its gardening guidance clear, grounded and useful without pretending that every coastal plot behaves alike. We separate general principles from choices that depend on a reader's own conditions.
Accuracy and context
We check statements for clarity and consistency before publication and avoid presenting a single garden example as a rule for every place. Where conditions can change the answer, we say so and explain what a reader can observe for themselves. We do not claim testing or research that has not been carried out.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for reader relevance, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. Paid, gifted or partner material is clearly labelled where it appears, and partner placements are distinguished from editorial articles. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error or unclear instruction, they can use the Contact page to tell us what needs attention. We review correction requests and update material when a change is warranted; significant corrections are identified in the affected article.
Images and illustrations
Images and illustrations are chosen to support the subject and should not be mistaken for proof that a planting result is typical. Some illustrations are AI-generated, and this is labelled where they appear.
Work with the conditions you have
A coastal garden is not a failed inland garden. Start by noticing what the wind, light and ground are doing, then make choices that fit.
