Coastal Garden Journal

Write for us

We welcome clear, original pitches about gardening in coastal conditions: the decisions, observations and plant knowledge that help readers understand a sea-shaped garden. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What to pitch

Useful subjects include exposure, shelter, plant choice, soil, garden layout and seasonal care, approached through a distinct question rather than a broad promise to cover everything. A strong pitch identifies its reader, its central point and what the reader will understand or be able to consider afterward.

What makes a good proposal

Tell us the proposed angle, why it matters to coastal gardeners and how you would explain it in plain language. Be clear about the limits of the advice: local conditions differ, and recommendations should not imply guaranteed results. Disclose relevant commercial interests and avoid unsupported claims.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include a short outline and any relevant experience or examples of your writing. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send confidential material or assume acceptance before hearing back.

Our point of view

Work with the conditions you have

A coastal garden is not a failed inland garden. Start by noticing what the wind, light and ground are doing, then make choices that fit.
